TTB has contracted with leading providers of utility bill auditing and rate analysis firms to provide these services on a contingency basis in the Southern states.  We do not get paid unless you get a refund – it’s a simple as that.  There is no cost to be SURE you are eligible for a refund.

How does it work?
We only need your last month’s utility invoices and any contracts applicable.  You do not have to provide copies of multiple years worth of bills.  We then agree to do an extensive audit of your accounts with the utilities and share in the savings obtained for you.

We obtain one or more years worth of billing histories directly from your utility companies and other eligible service providers. 

We then have a SURE audit performed to search for errors and overcharges on in your utility accounts.  Overcharges many times are found; inappropriate fees, billing and meter errors, incorrect and inappropriate rate applications, inaccurate base charges, etc.. Typically it takes two or three weeks to complete the analysis.  If we find you have been overcharged, our vendor will obtain the refunds, credits and savings for you.


How much does this cost to have a utility audit done?
Zero, there is no cost for us to start the SURE process.  If we do not identify a refund or savings, you don’t pay anything.  If we do recover money or find savings for you, we split what we actually obtain, so you can only come out ahead. 
 

What if I had an audit done already?
Most internal audits look for obvious or accounting errors, many compare the current months billing to a previous month or year.  There are also firms that offer energy management services, such as consulting and conservation efforts, or efficiency programs; yet they do not have SURE expertise in auditing the complex world of utility billing and rates. 

We have conducted audits for numerous organizations that previously had audits performed and generally still find significant savings with our SURE process. Since there is no cost to have us start SURE for your company, there is no reason not to do it.


How much of a refund or savings might we see?
Surely you’ll agree all savings are impactful.  Any recovery we find goes directly to your bottom line.  This means recovering or reducing utility operating expenses will have an immediate and substantial impact, making funds available you didn’t have previously.  Whether you are spending $1,000/month or $100,000/month, any recovery or reduction will be significant.

Why not just do this ourselves?
A typical utility company has dozens of different rates which can be combined with numerous riders and qualifiers, resulting in even more combinations and possibilities. 

While utility companies are governed by the Utilities Commission, they are not required to audit their own billings.  Worse yet, they are not required and certainly don’t have the incentive or capability to keep customers on the lowest appropriate rate schedule.

Add to this that they are generally for profit monopolies, and this is why you should have a utility refund audit performed.


Will I need to change my operations or purchase special equipment?
No. SURE reviews your consumption and usage patterns to determine if refunds or savings are possible.  No changes to your operations, no interruptions, no purchase, and no time required of you or your staff.  It really couldn’t be simpler!


Will you change my utility service to another company?
No. We will not change your utility provider or impact the quality or reliability of your services. You continue to receive the same utility services and will be billed from your existing service providers.
